My favorite and one and only nephew turned 1 month old yesterday! Over the weekend, we celebrated this mini milestone in his life, by going to my sister's house for a BBQ. Aiden has gotten so big, he remains absolutely adorable. I am a bit disappointed because he was asleep the whole time that I was there to visit him. I guess, all babies are like that - they just like to sleep all the way through. I didn't get a chance to play with him though - I'll have to visit him some other time for play time. Happy 1 month old, my dear Aiden! Thank you for making our world, a happier place to be. Muah!

Paris in a Cup - Girls Day Out in Celebration of Love

My good friend is getting married in Hawaii this Labor Day weekend. In celebration of her upcoming wedding and birthday, the girls and I took her to this cute little tea salon at Old Town Orange this weekend. The girls and I had a wonderful time. The place was absolutely feminine - it had fun and delicate little tea cups, chandeliers, cute paintings - I was delighted. It was a great find.
We all had a good time. It was nice to see my friend before she heads out to Maui to get hitched. I have known this girl forever - she and I have been through many of the best times of my life. Immediately after college - we used to hang out almost every Friday night - and drove everywhere to go dancing, meet people, have fun, and just live and experience life. She has come a long way, from that shy girl I met awhile back. I am very proud of her, and extremely happy that she has found a man who loves and adores her. I wish them both a very happy life together.

Open Sesame @ 2nd St., at Belmont Shore, LB
My weekdays has been so long and boring. The days are spent at work, or driving to work, going home from work, eating healthy, going to the gym and doing housechores. All throughout the week - all I can think about is the weekend - where we can go, what I can eat, and what fun things we can do.
So the date night continues this weekend. Hubby and I walked around 2nd Street in LB at night. It was nice out. It was a good time as any for a walk. We casually walked up and down the street looking at rows and rows of different restaurants. We finally came across this place with a long line of people waiting to be seated - and so of course, I told hubby, "I wanna eat here" as he kindly asked the beautiful waitress how long the wait was.
The place was called "Open Sesame" - It is a Lebanese restaurant. I have never eaten here before. It was small, very crowded, but the food was good. I had the Chicken Shawarma, which included hummus and salad. Hubby had a special entree that had skewers of chicken and beef kabob. The hummus was good - it was fresh and moist. My green iced tea was delicious. My chicken was yummy. I was a happy girl.
The night would have been perfect - but for my hubby, spilling the glass of water on our table, as we stood up to leave - and grabbed the attention of everyone sitting around us. We caused chaos in such a tight space. It's okay...he's a little clumsy like me, but I still love him.

Friday Date Nights
My other half and I have, for the most part, designated Friday nights as "date nights." Even when my schedule was tight because of school and work - I have always tried to keep Friday nights for us. On Friday nights, we go out on a date. We do things that are just for us - romantic things - dinner, movie, ice cream, walking around with no destination in mind. It's fun.
Last night, we went to this Japanese restaurant called "Kappo Honda" in Fountain Valley. It is like a tapas restaurant. It is small and quaint. The restaurant serves small portions and you're supposed to order a different variety of items to share (and we did - even though it is just the two of us - we like food!). They have a cute Japanese décor, and it seems to be quite popular based on the constant line of people waiting to be seated.
The food was good, we were full - hubby loved the steak he ordered. "well-seasoned" he said. Until next time.
